Pyrgos is fascinating with the unique marble creations of the local artists (marble-lined streets, temples and chandeliers in churches, doors and lintels, fountains, funerary monuments, etc.). The settlement experienced economic and artistic acne in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. Thanks to shipping, trade and, above all, the exploitation of the marbles of the area.
